Today, let's start with the learning of some idioms associated with 'trees'.
(1) to knock on wood (phr) 但願好運不斷！老天保佑！
--> a phrase spoken/used by someone who has just claimed to have avoided a misfortune so far and wants this to continue.
e.g. The deal will be agreed on Wednesday, knock on wood.
(2) to bark up the wrong tree (phr) 打錯了主意; 認錯了目標
--> to misdirect one's attention, efforts etc.; be mistaken
e.g. She thinks it'll solve the problem, but I reckon she is barking up the wrong tree.
(3) to not see the forest for the trees (idiom)
只見樹木，不見樹林；抓不注重點(注重細節而忽略整體)
--> to pay too much attention to details and not understand the general situation
e.g. Company officials were so involved in the talks, and they couldn't see the forest for the trees and didn't realize their employees were were willing to strike.
